Mexican in Charge

CEDAR CITY, Utah -- Being in charge is always a complicated position. The decisions you make have to satisfy everyone, but sometimes you have to pick a side. If I were Athletic Director for one day I would want equally opportunity for all genders in every sport. Starting with announcing the beginning of a men soccer team.

After spending some time with Southern Utah University mens soccer club it's clear they have a lot of talent and a great coaching staff. The teams IQ of the sport is highly develop and they have a clear sense for proper game strategies that result in victories. They currently play a 3-5-2 formation which is a formation rarely used among professionals and these guys seem to execute it pretty well. 

The reason I'm educating you on some soccer knowledge is that for this team to have all these quality factors and not be considered an official sport program for the school is absurd. This is a team that can go really far in the Big Sky conference and even cause a few upset among nationally ranked schools. 

Furthermore this could lead to more school exposure and bring students from around the nation. This could lead to more revenue coming in and expansion of SUU.

Taco'ing to Strangers CEDAR CITY, Utah --This past Tuesday, I gathered a diverse group of student with different cultural background to experience one of Cedar City's best local Mexican restaurants called Lupitas. One of the best things about SUU is the cultural diversity that gives this place a worldly energy. A place that no matter your cultural background you can find your place among caring and supportive community members. If just for a moment you feel lost, there is someone their to walk this new path with you and guide you. Lady Birds Soar High

Small School Victories Over Bigs CEDAR CITY, Utah -- Last night the Southern Utah University womens basketball team defeated the BYU Cougars at home inside the America First event center.  This was a big victory for the Lady Thunderbird coming off a three-game losing streak in California. It was also a moral boost and momentum shift for the team. As this shows a small school like SUU is able to compete with tops school. The significance of this also shows that the team has the tools to grab more victories and even make it to the big tournament. Winning this big in front of a home crowd gives the Ladys the confidence the need to begin a winning streak against upcoming big schools.
